How we verify what is on this site

Airport parking pages are full of numbers nobody can trace. This page explains where ours come from, what a verification date actually means, and the things we deliberately do not claim to know.

dataset last re-read

These three figures are read from our dataset when this page is built, so they cannot flatter us.

Where a number has to come from

  1. Massport’s own page, for anything about Logan’s garages, shuttles, terminals or Logan Express.
  2. The operator’s own site, for anything about a private lot.
  3. The MBTA or another first-party transport source, for transit.
  4. Our own affiliate configuration, for who pays us.

What is explicitly not a source: our own older pages. Published copy is a lead to check, never evidence. Several claims removed from this site in September 2026 had survived for months purely because they were already published.

What “verified” means here

A verification badge means a person or process opened that source on that date and read that figure. It is attached to the individual fact, not to the page. If we update unrelated wording on a page, the rate keeps its own older date, because nobody re-read the rate.

Where a source contradicts itself we say so rather than pick the convenient number. Massport, for example, titles one facility the Economy Parking Garage and then calls it the Economy Lot in its own body text; we follow the official name and record the discrepancy.

Fixed rates versus live quotes

Massport publishes a rate table, so we can print those numbers and calculate a real total for your dates from the published tiers. Off-airport operators price inside their own booking flow, so there is no number to print. We show those as a live quote and send you to the operator. We will not estimate them, because an invented total is worse than no total.

What we cannot know

  • Live space availability. Massport runs a parking status page and describes it as real time. We do not mirror, cache or reproduce it, and nothing on this site is a live space count. Check Massport directly before you drive.
  • What an operator will quote you. Dynamic pricing moves with date and demand.
  • Future construction dates. Massport does not publish a completion date for the Terminal E garage, so we do not print one, even though other sites do.

How often this is checked

A scheduled job runs on the first of each month and re-reads the sources behind our rate dataset, flagging anything that has drifted or that it could not reach. It is designed to fail loudly: a check that quietly passes when a source is unreachable would be worse than no check. When it fails, a person opens the page and re-reads it by hand.

That is the entire cadence. We do not claim a daily sweep, and we do not have one.

Corrections

When we have published something wrong we correct it on the page and say so, rather than deleting it quietly. The most recent entries from our own verification log:

  • 2026-09-13: all three off-airport operators re-read first-party. PreFlight publishes every 7-10 minutes with real-time tracking, confirming the shuttle-frequency withdrawal made on 2026-09-11 was correct. Park Shuttle & Fly and Park N Boston publish a free 24/7 shuttle and NO interval, so every 'every 5-10 min' style claim about them was unsupported. All three remain quote-only with no published daily rate. Amenities, loyalty schemes, security and operator guidance captured per operator rather than generalised. MBTA fare also cleared: $2.40 one-way, verified first-party, plus the 1 September 2026 two-hour unlimited-transfer pilot.
  • 2026-09-13: V2.1 truth pass. All Massport facts re-read FIRST-PARTY in a browser (curl returns an Imperva JavaScript shell with no rates). Terminal and Economy tiers UNCHANGED from 2026-09-02 and now re-dated. Corrections made: Logan Express named Peabody and was stale, Massport now lists Danvers and five locations, parking is $7/day not free, $9 online fare is flagged limited-time, Back Bay is $3 with a free return. Added: all six on-airport shuttle routes, with the finding that Massport publishes NO Route 88 headway, so the legacy 'every 15-20 minutes' claim is unsupported. Added: parking-status page renders 'Last updated on null EST' with no facility statuses, so there is no live data path and nothing on this site may be labelled live availability. Added: current operational alerts including Terminal E roadway construction 9/14-9/29 and the Runway 9-27 closure through the fall. DOCUMENTED CONFLICT: the handoff's cited 'open lot in front of Terminal E' sentence was not present on the cited Massport accessibility page today.
  • 2026-09-02: first scheduled run had never fired (nothing scheduled it); run by hand. Every Massport dollar figure unchanged; Massport relabelled its tier rows only. Park Shuttle & Fly $120/$165/$230 were found to be car-detailing packages, not monthly passes - removed here and from both live pages. 6DAYFREE expired 2026-08-31, removed. All three off-airport operator pages re-read; every other claim still matches. Massport advance-reservation $29: Imperva blocked the script, confirmed by reading massport.com/logan-airport/getting-to-logan/parking/terminal-parking in a browser the same day.

Money, and how it is kept away from the rankings

Some links on this site earn us a commission and every one of them is marked. Massport links never do, and never will: they are the honest reference and the reason to trust the comparison. A commission has never decided which option we put first, and the comparisons on this site routinely recommend Massport’s own garages, which pay us nothing. Our disclosure page names exactly who pays us.

Tell us we are wrong

If a figure here does not match what you were charged, or a shuttle did not run the way we described, email info@bostonairportparking.com. Include the date and the lot. A correction from a traveller who was actually there beats anything we can read off a website.
